Welcome to Faith Christian Academy! In the summer of 2002, God said "Open a school at the church." Faith Christian Academy is the result. FCA is the regular weekday ministry of Hudson Communtiy Baptist Church to children from grade one on. The Bible teaches us that parents have a God-given responsibility to provide spiritual development and academic training for the children that the Lord has entrusted to them (Psalm 127:3.) The purpose of Faith Christian Academy is to assist the parents with this responsibility. Each of us who is involved in this ministry is serving both the Lord and the church out of a love for God. We do so joyfully. Therefore, in educating each student, our teachers will, by example, be encouraging a love for God and a desire to obey Him. At the same time, they will be pointing them to their Lord and Saviour. In short, our aim is to assist parents as they seek to train their children for the Lord. In order to accomplish our purpose, we will pray much for the Lord's leading through His Holy Spirit, and we would appreciate your prayers. Further, our staff will be teaching principles of character, attitude and life response directly from the Bible. Finally, teachers will be using curriculum which is God-centred and will be teaching all subjects as revealing an orderly, loving, all knowing and eternal God. The responsibility which God places upon the parents for teaching their children is awesome (Deuteronomy 6:7; Ephesians 6:4.) That responsibility remains with the parents, and they should not be misled into thinking that they can delegate it to the school or its teachers. However, our aim is to assist the parents in any way possible to fulfill their responsibility to God. An outline of our aims is as follows: To introduce unsaved students personally to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour and encourage receiving Him. To encourage Christian students to mature in their Lord and follow Him more closely. To teach an attitude of scholarly discipline and academic development. To teach a view of creation, the world, the people around us, and all courses of study from God's perspective. To help students develop spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically based on God's system of priorities and values and with the purpose of pleasing Him. Monday through Friday our days begin with a time of personal focus on God and His word. The first few moments are spent listening to contemporary praise and worship music and a time for the students to pray and reflect on a few verses of scripture.
Every week we share a Chapel time together. This time incorporates worship, prayer and teaching from one of our staff or special guest speakers. It is always a great spiritual challenge and encouragement for our staff and students. The days are filled with academic and educational pursuits centred around the belief that all truth is God’s truth. Our academic core is based on Accelerated Christian Education curricular, with Quebec guidelines which are taught at FCA from a Christian, biblical worldview. Our teachers seek to instill a strong work ethic and high level of expectation in a surrounding framework of love and support. Our students have opportunities to take part in elective activities. Our Arts program runs several times each week providing instruction in art, drama, and vocal and instrumental music. Throughout all of these programs, our goal remains to provide development opportunities in all areas of a student’s life. |
